With this product CSP presents a new generation of gear levers for air-cooled Volkswagens. The gear lever, precision manufactured using CNC technology, offers the maximum in terms of quality and finish. The shaft is manufactured from solid stainless steel rod. In a very painstaking procedure the rod is bored, polished and bent as required. The selector base is manufactured from steel using laser technology and is covered with a real black leather gear lever cover. The ball joint is supported in Teflon blocks.

We invite you to select your personal gear lever in either a straight or bent design. Also we have introduced two different lengths into the programme: a 290 mm length (which approximately corresponds to the original length). or 275 mm. In each case this is the total length measured from the transmission tunnel.

You can choose between two types of handle. The first is an aluminium T-handle milled out of solid. This is carefully smoothed and polished. It is then meticulously and ergonomically shaped to the hand, thus providing a level of comfort never before experienced. It bears the CSP logo on its polished surface.
The CSP T-handle gear lever can also be supplied for right-hand drive VWs. In this case the T-handle is specially shaped for use with the left hand.

As a second variant we offer a black gear knob. It is made of non-reactive plastic.

The CSP gear lever provides a basic 40% reduction in gear change travel. A special version offers a ''rapid shift'' with a 60% reduction in gear change travel. The 60% reduction is ideally suited to race or street races, although it can of course also be used in any everyday vehicle.

Reverse gear is accessed by means of a push button on the side of the handle, or by a butterfly trigger below the handle. It is no longer necessary to push down the gear lever. The special linkage inside the handle is produced exclusively for this application. Each of our CSP shifters is supplied with a new reverse lockout plate and attachment bolts. Installation has been kept very simple and is demonstrated step-by-step in the accompanying instructions.
